Librarian Kinley Foster
wants to write erotic romance—the steamy, sexy, curl-your-toes kind of stuff.
The problem? She desperately needs a little erotic inspiration. And at a
romance convention in Vegas, she finds it...or rather him. The
sizzlingly sexy guy who refused Kinley—and her virginity—when she was sixteen.
Now it's time for a
little payback.
Literary agent Ian
Thompson is a professional. Mentoring an aspiring author is one thing. Giving
her a thorough and thoroughly satisfying sexy education is quite
another. Especially when she's as stunning and deliciously curvaceous as
Kinley. Yet Ian can't help himself when Kinley makes him a wager he can't
resist. A wager that will tempt Ian to cross every professional—and every
sensual—boundary in the book...
Ian
opened the door to his suit around seven p.m. and found Kinley, the woman who
sarcastically be she could handle him mentoring her on sex way better than he
could handle teaching her about sex—yes, that’s right, she’d bet about them and
sex—dozing on the couch in a pair of flannel pajamas featuring pink elephants
in tutus.
He could talk her through the intricacies of passion, give her an understanding
of what real chemistry was. This bet was in the bag.
His scrutiny lingered on the sight of her hair splayed across the pillow. One
she must have snatched from the suite’s king-sized bed. She had one arm thrown
across her face as if to shield her eyes from the light of the lamp she hadn’t
turned off.
A glass of red wine sat on the table beside her with an empty wine bottle next
to it. Her laptop stood open on the coffee table. He liked her hair down. All
crazy curls and volume. She shifted, and he caught sight of an expanse of bare
skin between her the gap of her bottoms and her top. His breath hitched.
Damn it. He was going to lose the bet.
Lisa
Wells always knew there would come a time in her life when she'd pursue her
dream career as a romance author. This is that time. Before this moment, she's
enjoyed a rollercoaster journey called - The Middle School Counselor - Dramas,
Dreams, and Destinies. After many years of working with teenage girls, she
knows when one comes in baffled because another girl hates her, the first
question to ask is - "Did you steal her boyfriend?" Nine times out of
ten the answer is some form of, “Yes but....”
While Lisa enjoys working with adolescents, she writes for adults. Her
books contain: Sex, Scowls & Sass.

Thank you, Entangled!
I’ve always been curious about the behind the scenes
involving writing conferences, authors, agents and editors, so this book
sounded like the perfect fit for me.
“The Seduction of Kinley Forster” is actually the
seduction of Ian Thompson -- Kinley’s brother’s BFF, who also happens to be the
man she’s had a crush on for her entire life and a literary agent going to the
same conference Kinley is attending in Las Vegas.
A writer looking for an agent, Kinley travels to Vegas
hoping to find someone to represent her work. When she gets there, Kinley’s
first surprise is to find Ian, the guy she hadn't seen in years. The second, he’s
going to the same conference and he’s one of the agents she was anxious to meet. This could've been a good thing if Kinley didn’t hate Ian’s guts.
The last time they spoke things didn’t really go
exactly as Kinley had planned, and what Ian did (or what she believed Ian did) made
her see him under a different light. Now she can’t look at him without feeling a mix
of anger and embarrassment. So instead of drooling over him like she used to,
Kinley is ready to get as far away from her former crush as possible. An impossible
task since Ian promised her brother he’d “babysit” her for the duration of the
conference – and after he sees how she’s grown into a stunning woman, he’s even
less likely to let her get out of his sight.
Ian and Kinley share a connection that goes back to
when they were very young, which makes it easy to connect with them. When
they were teasing each other about the past, I felt like I was truly watching
two friends interact. That doesn’t mean they can’t or won’t heat things
up. On the contrary, it’s quite clear Kinley’s feelings for Ian are still
there, making it impossible for her to ignore him.
While in the beginning I thought Ian had never taken
Kinley seriously, I came to the conclusion he had noticed her when they were friends
and hadn’t acted on it because she was too young and his best friend’s little
sister (love this trope). But now that she’s all grown up, Ian doesn’t have as
much trouble making a move.
Together, Kinley and Ian give us some pretty hot
scenes. *fans self* As individuals, I enjoyed reading Ian’s POV a little more
than Kinley’s. Maybe it was the whole “guy who reads romances and is a literary
agent” thing. He was fun, sexy and smart at the same time, which is always
a great combination. Plus, he seemed like a more mature person.
Although we didn’t get to see much of the writing
conference – this was about the romance, after all -- it was fun to read about
Kinley listening to other writers talking about dialogue, how to write sexy
books, etc.
“The Seduction of Kinley Forster” was a quick, fun and
hot read, and I believe people who want to see what happens behind the scenes will
enjoy this love story between a writer and a literary agent.
